New data has revealed that West Yorkshire Police issued 1,055 fixed penalty notices (FPNs) between 2023 and 2025 for child car seat and seatbelt offences, the second-highest total in the UK. The figures, obtained by Confused.com, highlight ongoing confusion and lack of awareness around car seat safety and legal requirements.
