Former Bradford City manager's son was found by family in his bedroom, inquest hears

Alex Hughes, 38, was Grimsby Town’s player recruitment lead, having previously held roles at clubs including Manchester City, Fulham, Blackburn and 1860 Munich.
Mr Hughes was found collapsed at home in his bedroom in Macclesfield, Cheshire, on June 19 by his sons, an inquest at Cheshire Coroner’s Court heard.
Following a post-mortem examination, his death was attributed to “sudden adult death syndrome”, also known as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS).
Dad pays tribute to sonMark Hughes, who managed Bradford City for 18 months from February 2022, said he and his family were “heartbroken” following the sudden death of his son.
He then followed his father to Manchester City in 2008 and worked with him again at Fulham before forging his own path abroad.
