Gauteng police confirmed the arrest of a 28-year-old Soweto resident who allegedly faked his own kidnapping in a bid to extort R100,000 from his family.
Dobsonville house leads to arrestsTheir investigation led them to a property in Dobsonville, Soweto, where the man was found alive alongside three other individuals.
"Further investigations established that the said victim had allegedly conspired with the three suspects to stage the kidnapping in an attempt to extort money from his family," Nevhuhulwi said.
