Trainspotting: The Musical had been scheduled for a run of shows at Brighton Dome from March 9 to 13 next year, as part of a major UK tour following its world premiere in London’s West End. However, all performances have now been cancelled due to low ticket sales across the tour. The original Trainspotting film, directed by Danny Boyle, was the highest-grossing UK film of that year and earned more than $76 million worldwide. It also won the BAFTA for Best Screenplay and was ranked 10th in the British Film Institute’s list of the "Top 100 Greatest British Films of the 20th Century".
