Worthing pier received the accolade in a recent article by The Guardian, which celebrated the country's best seafront structures.
The national newspaper highlighted the Victorian landmark's variety of dining options, particularly noting the recent arrival of Ebb and the ongoing success of Perch on the Pier.

Among the other popular piers to appear in The Guardian's feature were Bournemouth pier, labelled the best for "adventure" and Penarth pier in Glamorgan, which was deemed the best for "culture".
Worthing pier is more than 150 years old, having first opened in 1862.
