MTA expands open stroller pilot program to more New York City busesNEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- MTA buses will soon look a little different as a pilot program expands to make things easier for families. Officials announced on Thursday that there will be a designated place for strollers on every city bus and those strollers do not have to be folded up. "When we talk about accessibility, we often focus on the elevators and our subway system," Sen. Andrew Gounardes said. The initial pilot program went into effect in 2023. The MTA says funding from New York State helped make it possible to expand the program to all city buses.
