Carrey's interest was first reported in October, when he was in talks to play George Jetson opposite Colin Trevorrow as director and co-writer alongside Joe Epstein. The shareholder letter names only Carrey, though, and says nothing about Trevorrow, whose assumed attachment still comes from last year's reporting. Outside the Sonic franchise, his last leading role in a studio picture was 2014's Dumb and Dumber To.
