On Sept. 1, 2025, Charles "Chip" Rickenbach departed this life doing what he loved, hunting bear in Maine. A son of Charles and Elizabeth Dexter Rickenbach, Chip was a retired blow mold service engineer, and a former volunteer firefighter and scuba diver with the North Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Sara (Craig) Rickenbach. Survivors include siblings, Bettie Eva, Verna Rouzzo, Newton Rickenbach and Katherine (Mike) Grenci. He also leaves to mourn his loss a large circle of friends, including "Little Brother" Cody Flynn through the Big Brothers and Big Sisters youth organization of New Castle. Besides bear hunting, Chip also enjoyed fishing, watching old movies and woodworking, making many intricately detailed doll houses, which were then donated to various charities. In accordance with his wishes, Chip will be laid to rest beside his wife in Mt. Jackson Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 27.
