Amil E. Cionni, 77, died Sept. 13, 2025, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Amil was born April 9, 1948, in New Castle, son of the late Amil and Marie (Smith) Cionni. He graduated from New Castle High School and attended Slippery Rock College before he entered into the U.S. Army. He grew up in West Pittsburg. He worked for Babcock & Wilcox, Youngstown Sheet & Tube, LTV Steel and later worked at Jameson Hospital. Amil enjoyed sports, especially his favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He coached Little League baseball and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a lifelong member at the Mahoning Sportsman Club. After he retired, he helped his good friend, Joe, at his shop. Amil is survived by his wife, Ingrid (Bryson) Cionni, whom he married Nov. 14, 1970; his son, Brian (Kristine) Cionni; and a granddaughter, Veronica Cionni. In addition to his parents, Amil was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Cionni. Private services were held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025. Amil was laid to rest in Castle View Memorial Gardens. In place of flowers, the family asks that you keep Amil in your thoughts and prayers. Arrangements are by Terry Cunningham Funeral Home in Bessemer.
