Edward G. Conti, 88, of Fredericktown, Pennsylvania (Deemston Borough), formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, in his home. He was born March 22, 1937, in New York City, a son of the late Lawrence and Della Booth Conti. He grew up and spent his younger years in New Castle, Pennsylvania, graduating from New Castle High School in 1955. Ed was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. For 34 years he was employed as a roller at Sharon Steel, retiring in 1999. Mr. Conti was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He enjoyed all sports and was a diehard Yankees fan. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Rev. Sandra Dibert Conti; son, Edward Conti; daughter, Tara Bender; stepdaughter, Beth Morris; two siblings, Jim Conti and Laura Black; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all. Deceased are three brothers, Raymond, Richard and Larry Conti. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, until the time of the 1 p.m. service in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA, with Rev. James Markley officiating. Interment will be private in Buckingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Concordia Hospice of Washington.
