Government College University Faisalabad is making news online as a routine review of exam records turned into major cyber scandal after officials uncovered signs of alleged result tampering.
Following the discovery, the university immediately withheld the affected results to prevent the release of incorrect academic records.
GCU university alleged that unidentified individuals were not only hacking the system but were also reportedly collecting money from students in exchange for illegally increasing their marks.
Another major controversy dates back to 90s, when Punjab University Examination Branch employee allegedly tampered with official award lists and examination records to convert failed students into successful candidates.
