Abu Dhabi’s Federal Court of Appeal has postponed hearing in the Sudan military equipment case, involving 13 individuals and six companies, to August 12.
The decision to adjourn was made after reviewing evidence and confessions linking the defendants to arms smuggling and money laundering.
The prosecution added that the investigations revealed an organized criminal mindset that aimed to turn the state into a platform for conducting military equipment deals, transferring funds and concealing their true nature, stressing that the money in this case was not a subsequent effect of the crime, but rather its tool and means of implementation.
The defence attorney requested an adjournment for the first defendant until he could complete his arguments.
The UAE Attorney-General Dr Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, had referred 19 defendants, including 13 individuals and 6 companies, to the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal on April 29, 2026, to be tried for the crimes attributed to them.
