The Scottish FA panel that reviews major refereeing decisions has been scrapped.
The Key Match Incident Review Panel met weekly to adjudicate important calls, with a SPFL club representative as part of the panel.
Introduced in 2024, it committed to publishing the weekly review of key incidents in the hope of increasing transparency and understanding of decisions.
STV Sport understands that the KMI panel will now be replaced with meetings with managers and captains, chaired by SFA head of referees Willie Collum and VAR manager Mark Atkinson.
It comes after the panel, in which clubs’ participation was voluntary, ran into a number of controversies, mostly revolving around VAR.
