The University of East Anglia (UEA) has begun the procurement process for a contractor to deliver a £76m refurbishment of the Grade II*-listed Sainsbury Centre museum in Norwich. Work will address building-condition issues, improve energy efficiency, enhance visitor comfort and reduce long-term maintenance liabilities, the university said. The museum was awarded Grade II* listed status in 2012 in recognition of its architectural and historic significance. The UEA carried out preliminary market engagement before publishing the notice. Selected contractors visited the building between 31 March and 15 April this year to review the project scope and provide feedback.
