In response, the IMO criticised the Government for a lack of investment in GP infrastructure. He added: “General practice is the foundation of our health service. Last month senior figures in the Department of Health told TDs and Senators that a long-awaited review of general practice is set to be completed by the end of the year. As part of the implementation of Sláintecare, previous Governments committed to carry out a review of general practice to determine the best approach to developing a sustainable GP service across the country.
