Isabella Rossellini received one of the film world’s most prestigious honorary awards on Wednesday, which she accepted before a crowd of 8,000 people at the opening night ceremony of the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The honor carried particular personal weight: Isabella’s father, the Italian director Roberto Rossellini, received the same award at Locarno in 1948 for his film Germany, Year Zero. “Being on a par with my father and big brother fills me with emotion,” Isabella told the crowd.
