The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described its Democracy Under Attack demonstration as one of the most peaceful political protests in Ghana's history, praising participants for their discipline and commending the security services and media for their roles in the exercise. Mr Mohammed said the NPP had consistently urged supporters to remain peaceful throughout the march because the objective was to defend democracy without undermining public order. "This is one of the peaceful demonstrations that we have had. He thanked demonstrators for adhering to the party's directives, saying their conduct contributed to the peaceful nature of the protest. The Democracy Under Attack demonstration saw the NPP march to the Supreme Court and Jubilee House, where the party presented petitions over what it describes as arbitrary arrests, selective justice and threats to Ghana's democratic institutions.
