US President Donald Trump’s renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has gone beyond his vision of refurbishing a site of national pride to perfection. In the past month, the reflecting pool has become yet another tool for Trump to exact political retribution against those standing in his way. A federal judge threw out the first case against Comey last year, saying Trump’s hand-picked prosecutor wasn’t lawfully appointed. In June, a Republican-appointed federal judge blocked the Trump administration from trying to subpoena Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. But Trump will continue to believe the reflecting pool has been vandalised, no matter what the evidence shows.
