Air Guard Dangles Bonuses to Boost Retention

The “Summer Surge Incentive” seeks to secure Air Guard reenlistments and attract Active-duty members to sign on with Air Guard after leaving service, according to an Aug. 4 Air Guard announcement.
The $7,500 bonus offer is open to Airmen whose sign a three-year enlistment contract by Sept. 30, Air Guard spokesman Maj. John LaDue, told Air & Space Forces Magazine.
The Air National Guard met its recruiting goal for fiscal 2025, bringing in 12,000 new Airmen.
Both the Air Force and the Space Force suprassed their active-duty recruiting goals months ahead of schedule for fiscal 2026.
