The 18-year-old admitted killing Kayden in May last year before his co-accused, Jay Stewart, 19, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were tried at the same court. Turley and Stewart were given minimum 16-year prison terms, with Stewart initially serving his sentence in a young offenders institution. The Court of Appeal has now confirmed it received a note of appeal against Turley’s sentence on August 4. Turley also acted out the vicious murder on the couch of a friend whose flat was used as a hideout.
