Local individuals and small businesses impacted by this summer’s wildfire have until August 10 to apply for United Way of Northeastern Minnesota Wildfire Recovery funding. Individuals must live or work in the same areas and show their income was directly affected by the wildfire. Lakehouse Candle Co. is donating 10% of sales from all “Boundary Waters” candles this month to UWNEMN’s Ely Wildfire Recovery Fund for small businesses. Checks should be made out to “United Way of NE MN” with the purpose included in writing. Since 1966, UWNEMN has served individuals and families in Northern St. Louis County, Eastern Itasca County, Koochiching County and Lake of the Woods County.
