Following a characteristically cryptic rollout involving a hotline number, DIIV has detailed its first new music since 2024’s acclaimed LP Frog in Boiling Water. The New York-based band will follow it with its fifth album, ZIRP!, on Oct. 30 via Fantasy Records, led by the new single “The Fountain.” Produced by A.G. Cook, the visionary pop architect behind projects with Charli xcx and Caroline Polachek, ZIRP! And while Frog in Boiling Water wrestled with political anxiety and environmental collapse, ZIRP! DIIV also created fake ads for Soul-net, a corporate behemoth offering “transformative solutions for personal and societal issues.”
