A Donegal football club has highlighted the importance of CPR and defibrillators after a man’s life was saved at the weekend. Several off-duty emergency personnel attended to Mr McGowan, who was later transferred to hospital. “We are incredibly fortunate that several off-duty emergency service personnel were participating in the match, including a paramedic, a second off-duty paramedic who arrived to assist shortly afterwards, and a number of firefighters. The club praised the emergency response as "exceptional". Those few minutes can make the difference between life and death, and we would encourage everyone to consider undertaking a CPR and defibrillator awareness course.”
