A 19-year-old Crossville resident was arrested early Sunday morning, August 2, 2026, after deputies caught him driving across double yellow lines on Vandever Road. After conducting a traffic stop near Ted Davis Road, the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Samuel Quinton Aytes. When asked if he should have been driving, Aytes reportedly answered, “No, Sir.” Aytes agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which deputies stated he failed. The collected blood evidence was entered into the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office evidence vault and will be sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) lab for testing.
