The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned a retired officer, Nwaogu Ezeakolam, before the Federal High Court in Abuja, for associating with a proscribed terrorist organistion, Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB). In a four-count charge, Mr Ezeakolam is accused of rendering support and material assistance to IPOB. ADVERTISEMENTIn addition, the retired officer is accused of joining IPOB, fully aware that it is a proscribed organization, and posting on social media platforms, messages calculated to induce unsuspecting members of the public to support IPOB. Justice Mohammed Umar remanded the defendant to the Kuje Correctional Center and adjourned the matter until October 29 for trial.
