The incident, which reportedly led to the loss of lives, followed the alleged killing of a herder by a local vigilante member over suspicion of cattle rustling. Meanwhile, the Kogi State Government has condemned the attacks, describing them as tragic, senseless and unacceptable. He added that the vigilante member allegedly linked to the death of the herder, as well as those behind the reprisal attack, would be brought to justice. It also reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property while promoting peaceful coexistence across Kogi State.
