In partnership with the UN Refugee Agency, Rwanda welcomed the 24th group of 177 asylum seekers from Libya originating from Sudan (68) Eritrea (66), Somali (2), Ethiopia (15) & South Sudan (26). They will be accommodated in Gashora Transit Center, which hosts other evacuees who arrived before. Since September 2019, Rwanda has received over 3,000 refugees & asylum seekers from Libya. 2,681 of them have been successfully resettled in third countries; namely (297) Sweden, (927) Canada, (229) Norway, (332) France, (271)Finland, (94)Netherlands,(72) Belgium, (325) USA, (132) Germany. The Ministry in charge of Emergency Management says that Rwanda remains committed to offering refuge to people in need.
