Father Amoah, 49, grew up in the Archdiocese of Cape Coast, Ghana, Africa. He attended St. Theresa Minor Seminary in Amissano, Ghana; St. Paul Catholic Seminary in Sowutuom, Accra, Ghana; and St. Peter Regional Seminary, Pedu, Cape Coast, Ghana. He was ordained a deacon on Jan. 15, 2006, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Cape Coast by Archbishop Fans Wiertz of Roemond, Holland. He has served at various parishes in the Archdiocese of Cape Coast and taught social studies at Dunkwa Senior High Technical School. He has served in other positions, including as a dean on the archdiocesan laity council, a member of the archdiocesan Priests’ Council, Winneba Deanery Women’s Council chaplain, Cape Coast Deanery Women’s Council chaplain and as Swedru Deanery youth chaplain.
