PAKISTAN — The federal government has announced two major road infrastructure projects in Islamabad aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity across the capital. The CDA has already issued a tender for the construction of the Kashmir Chowk underpass near the Islamabad Club. Mohsin Naqvi also expressed concern over the absence of a fully operational Rescue 1122 emergency service in Islamabad and directed authorities to expedite the establishment of four new emergency response centres across the capital. Once operational, they are expected to significantly reduce emergency response times and enhance the city’s ability to deal with fires, accidents and other emergencies. The planned underpasses, emergency response centres and road improvement projects form part of the government’s broader efforts to modernise Islamabad’s infrastructure, improve public services and accommodate the city’s growing transportation needs.
