CAF has officially confirmed the draw for the first and second preliminary rounds of the competition. A debut for Al Ahly in the Confed CupAl Ahly, who will feature in the Confederation Cup for the first time since 2015, will begin their campaign in the second preliminary round after being among the seeded teams. Fellow South African side Durban City will travel to Burundi to face Rukinzo FC in the first preliminary round. Should they progress, Durban City will meet either AS Port Louis 2000 of Mauritius or Botswana giants Jwaneng Galaxy in the second preliminary round.
