EXCLUSIVE: Woman given police warning after ‘bleach attack’ on dog in Dundee
['Lindsey Hamilton']
The Courier
A woman has been handed a police warning after pouring bleach over a dog in Dundee, sparking an accusation of “lenient treatment”.
Scott Oswald, 59, from St Mary’s contacted police last September after the bleach was thrown over his dog, Tarah.
Police Scotland has now confirmed to The Courier that she was not prosecuted and instead received a “Recorded Police Warning” (RPW).
After the attack, Scott raced his dog inside and immediately put her under a cold shower to try to wash the worst of the bleach off.
A Recorded Police Warning is a non-court disposal used by Police Scotland for minor offenses committed by individuals aged 16 and over.
