The announcement came as Diageo, which makes Guinness and Baileys, revealed weaker sales and profits for the past year.
The trade union GMB told The Courier that workers at both Fife plants have been put at risk of redundancy.
It is understood that 72 workers are at risk at the firm’s Cameronbridge Distillery, with 10 redundancies anticipated.
Two miles away, Diageo’s Cameronbridge site is Europe’s largest grain distillery and serves as the primary engine for the firm’s global spirits business, employing around 200 people.
