Tributes paid to first city council conservation officer who died aged 93

Andrew Rutter was the city council's first conservation officer and an integral part of city planning and preserving its heritage in the late 20th century.

Keith Leaman, former chairman of the City of Winchester Trust and architect with Plincke Leaman and Browning, knew Mr Rutter from the mid-1970s.
Former city councillor Ian Tait said: "Andrew was passionate about protecting and preserving our heritage and his attention to detail was incredible.
Mr Rutter died at St Giles View care home on July 25.
