Loganair will shut down its Southampton Airport base in October, less than a year after it began operations there in January. A spokesperson for Southampton Airport said: "We are disappointed by Loganair's decision to withdraw its Southampton-Manchester service and close its operating base at Southampton later this year. "Loganair remains an important airline partner and we thank the team for their contribution to connectivity from Southampton over recent years." Loganair only began operating from Southampton Airport on January 5 and said then they planned to reach full operational capacity by March, including permanently stationing two planes at the site.
