Police and paramedics were called to the crash in Esh Winning yesterday evening (August 5). A pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital North Durham for treatment. Durham Police confirmed that a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in custody. The incident occurred on the B6302 Ushaw Moor towards Esh Winning at around 9.25pm. Durham Police have urged anyone with information to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting incident number 508 of August 5.
