Inside, she found a black and white cat dead on the living room floor, infested with fleas, and a second, tabby and white cat hiding on top of the kitchen cupboards, also heavily infested and visibly underweight. The black and white cat was found to be in an emaciated condition and is believed to have possibly died after choking on some food. The surviving cat was given a body condition score of one out of nine, weighing just 2.5kg - about half the expected weight for his size.
