Holmside Farm Fresh, based near Burnhope, will launch its "family size" ham and pease pudding stottie on Thursday, August 13, with the sandwich measuring an eye-watering 10 inches across. The idea came about almost by accident, according to Alex Richardson Robson, 52, who runs the family-run farm shop with her husband. "Literally we make hundreds of ham and pease pudding sandwiches a week, and I thought, 'shall we make a family giant stottie for a family picnic,'" she said. Angela Spink, who said she had struggled to find pease pudding since moving away from the North East, wrote: "Omg I would love a slice.
