Patients at the Golden Jubilee Regional Spinal Cord Injuries Centre, based at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, have benefited from dog-assisted therapy sessions funded by Caremark Redcar and Cleveland.
"Therapy dogs have the power to lift spirits and make people smile, including staff.
"Within dog therapy sessions, patients find comfort, motivation and connection, as well as improved psychological wellbeing.
The therapy sessions, supported by Caremark Redcar and Cleveland, give patients the opportunity to interact with therapy dogs in the unit’s garden and surrounding grounds.
