Durham Crown Court was previously told that acting on local information, neighbourhood officers forced entry to the premises in Easington Colliery, on Friday June 19, and found the sophisticated grow being cultivated across nine rooms. Both appeared at a plea hearing at the court via video link from nearby Durham Prison, both assisted by a Vietnamese interpreter. “They have both now pleaded guilty and the circumstances they say that led them to working in a cannabis farm will be considered by the prosecution.” He remanded both 41-year-old van Phan and Le, 36, to remain in custody until the sentencing hearing early next month.
