Recently, we learned that Samsung Foundry's fab utilization had climbed to around 70%–80%, with the company aiming to reach full utilization by the end of this year. According to a new report from ZDNet Korea, Samsung Foundry's 4nm production capacity is fully booked through next year. Reportedly, the node is being heavily utilized for manufacturing Samsung's own HBM4 chips as well as Nvidia's Groq3 LPX accelerators. With its 4nm lines running at full capacity, Samsung is positioning its 5nm process as an alternative. With TSMC prioritizing its largest clients and its advanced-node capacity remaining heavily booked, some companies that are unable to secure production slots there are turning to Samsung instead, further benefitting the South Korean tech giant.
