March 3, 1960 – July 16, 2026Michael “Mike” Alexander Barron, 66, passed away at home on July 16, 2026. An avid sportsman and lifelong lover of the outdoors, Mike chose Vail as his home 38 years ago, drawn to the mountains and the opportunities and lifestyle they offered. A competitive athlete throughout his youth, Mike played golf in high school and was recruited to play at California State University, Fullerton, before racing motocross professionally. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Mary Alsis Barron and Louis Cantu Barron, and his sister, Nancy Barron Erickson. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Mahoney Barron; his son, Benjamin Michael “Ben” Barron; his siblings, Mary Barron Milner (Henry) and Louis Cantu Barron Jr. (Sharon); and his nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
