Thomas Bangalter says his creative practice goes “deeper” than AI ever couldDaft Punk mastermind Thomas Bangalter has weighed in on the debate surrounding AI in the music industry.
The French musician is officially “not interested” in the technology and its uses in creative fields, an important clarification given the increase in alleged AI music in the global charts and streaming platform algorithms.
Bangalter continues his rumination, admitting that this stance may be because “My relationship to creation and my relationship to art is mostly happening at a deeper level, which does not express itself through words.”
The electronic music maestro explained, “The most interesting part of the creative process is happening not at all on an intellectual level.
Bangalter’s latest project, Mirage: Ballet for 16 Dancers, was released on June 5th.
