This summer, children across Malta and Gozo are learning about the European Union by taking penalties. For the 14th consecutive year, Europe Direct Valletta and Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta are running interactive EU sessions as part of the Government’s SkolaSajf programme. The children also pick up fun facts about different Member States and learn how countries team up to get things done together. The idea is simple: just like a football team, the EU is stronger when its members work together. The children take part in an EU-themed penalty shootout, answering questions about the EU and its Member States before stepping up to score a goal for their team.
