Miss North Carolina USA has been stripped of her crown over recent controversy that prompted pageant organizers to act. Brittany Boltinhouse, who is from Duplin County and competed after being crowned Miss Wilmington, was recently crowned Miss North Carolina USA and was supposed to take the stage at the 75th annual Miss USA pageant on August 27. Thom Brodeur, the chairman of Miss USA, said the organization "does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language that strips any person of their dignity." Myla Hadley, who was crowned Miss Charlotte before competing in the Miss North Carolina USA pageant, thanked people for the support on social media as she gets ready for the Miss USA national pageant. "While this may seem like a two-week turnaround given the circumstances, I've been preparing to represent at Miss USA since I first competed with this organization.
