The Labour Party lost more than a fifth of its members in 2025, figures published by the Electoral Commission reveal. It is understood that the membership figures are not a current reflection of the current size of the Labour party’s membership. Financial reports from the Labour Party also reveal that income from party donations plunged from £39.4m in 2024 – a general election year – to £6.5m, a drop of almost 84 percent. Income from membership fees also dropped by almost 17 percent, while income from affiliates fell by almost four percent. A Labour Party spokesperson said: “The Labour Party is proud to be powered by our dedicated Party members and supporters who fight day after day for Labour victories to change the country for the better.
