The job cuts include software engineers, engineering and product managers, mechatronics engineers, UX designers and recruiters located in Kirkland, Redmond and Seattle offices as well as remote employees. Business Insider reported layoffs in the Google Cloud division earlier this summer, but did not say how many jobs were impacted. While Microsoft, Amazon and other tech companies have cut Washington employees in multiple rounds over the past year, this is Google’s the first significant reduction in the state since 2023. Zillow Group this week disclosed it is eliminating 91 jobs in Washington state, landing heavily on senior staff.
