The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has launched an electronic system that allows travellers arriving in or departing from Qatar to apply for permits to carry controlled medicines for personal use. The system enables users to submit applications online, track their status and receive permits electronically. MOPH has also issued a guidance booklet explaining how to use the system, outlining application requirements, necessary supporting documents and the list of controlled medicines covered by the service. Supporting Digital Health ServicesAccording to MOPH, the system provides a clear mechanism that helps travellers meet the legal and health requirements for carrying controlled medicines before travelling, while strengthening pharmaceutical oversight and community protection. The launch forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing digital transformation efforts and supports the objectives of the National Health Strategy, particularly initiatives aimed at creating a more efficient and resilient digital health system.
