OCEANAGOLD (Philippines), Inc. (OGP) said its second-quarter (Q2) net income jumped 124% to $32.7 million from $14.6 million a year earlier, as higher realized gold and copper prices offset lower production and sales volumes.
Gross income climbed 65% to $71.2 million, while income from operations more than doubled to $49.4 million from $24 million.
The operator of the Didipio gold-copper mine in Nueva Vizcaya said the revenue increase was mainly driven by higher average realized gold and copper prices despite lower sales volumes.
Income before tax more than doubled to $48.9 million from $23.7 million, while income tax expense increased to $16.2 million from $9.1 million.
OGP also expects AISC to decline in the second half due to higher production and lower sustaining capital expenditures.
