Doctors are treating more patients for influenza and flu-like illnesses at this time, but there is no evidence of an increase in COVID-19 cases. That clarification has come from President of the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP), Dr Lynda Williams. Dr Williams told CBC News that any official information regarding an increase in COVID-19 cases should come from the Ministry of Health and Wellness. She also noted that the Ministry uses a respiratory surveillance system to determine whether the number of influenza and flu-like illnesses is above the expected level for this time of year.
