Second-quarter insurtech funding most since 2022: ReportFunding for insurtech companies totaled $2.44 billion in the second quarter, the highest quarterly funding total since the second quarter of 2022. Artificial intelligence dominated the funding landscape, with 99.1% of second-quarter insurtech funding going to AI-focused companies, according to a report Thursday from Gallagher Re, the reinsurance business of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.“This activity further demonstrates the growing convergence between AI and insurtech,” Gallagher Re said in its report. Second-quarter property/casualty insurtech funding more than doubled from $910 million to $1.84 billion, the report said. There were 41 second-quarter life and health deals, the most since the third quarter of 2022. The U.S. again dominated quarterly insurtech funding, with 61% of transactions there.
